Hospitality and diplomacy are understood as universal parameters for hosting the other, but often they fail to address ways of perceiving the world that do not fit into neurotypical patterns. This failure affects the inclusiveness of academic and arts education environments. I argue for the necessity of implementing pedagogical tools to build spaces oriented to the deconstruction of these thresholds of normalcy. My research is bound by the theories of neuroqueering, on the intersection with the Critical Disability Studies (CDS), queer theory (Yergeau, 2018; Egnar, 2018) and the neurodiversity activism (Manning, 2012). I will discuss post-qualitative inquiry methods (Löytonen, 2017) that engage with overcoming the concept of a fixed individual identity, in favour of a mutually inclusive (Massumi, 2014) understanding of difference. As a manner of criticising the laws of hospitality, Jacques Derrida approaches the concept of “hos(ti)pitality”. I will talk about it concerning past experiences in research-creation.
